Pre-Production- Research into Desertion in WWI

I’ve ordered this book from Amazon, which is a comprehensive study of desertion and executions in WWI. My main focus for research is: the practical history of executions i.e. what actually happened when a soldier was shot in WWI- the processes, the legal side, how it was actually done. Also, I’m going to look into specific cases and try and draw inspiration from real soldier’s stories. I'll write a later post on my findings.

Pre-Production- Possible Ideas (Diary Entry)

I came up with a good idea when reading about executions on Wikipedia, which is of a deserter in World War One as the subject of the soldiers shot at dawn a) interests me and b) I feel, doesn’t get enough screen attention. I'll do some research and draft out some ideas.
